TESI GROUP awarded the call for proposal titled “Innovative services for SMEs 2019“, supported by the Emilia Romagna 2014/2020 ERDF Regional Operational Programme, amed at companies committed in innovation and diversification of products and/or services. An important goal that marks a strategic synergy between public and private sectors towards a common path of quality, commitment and innovation.
The project has been structured in different steps, starting from the development of a complete multiphysical model that simulates as much as possible the shrinkage of the heat-shrinkable sleeves supplied by TESI GROUP and then moving on to Implementation phase of this system based on the analysis of collected data. The result has been a prototype of an automatic heat shrinkable sleeve applicator for water, oil and gas distribution pipelines, using an induction/air heater.
The experimental test phase made it possible to define all the procedures to be carried out for a correct shrinkage and the operational parameters required for an adequate bonding of the sleeve onto the field joint. In addition to the induction heater, a heating air system was used to support the sleeve’s shrinking.
